Mo Salah speaks on Arne Slot after his goal against Ipswich

Mohamed Salah played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town, earning him the man-of-the-match honor from TNT Sports. Salah’s influence was evident as he provided the assist for Diogo Jota’s opener before sealing the win with a goal of his own. This strike was particularly significant, propelling him past Premier League legends Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, and Alan Shearer for the most goals scored on the opening weekend of the season.

After the match, Salah reflected on his performance and the team’s success under new head coach Arne Slot. He expressed satisfaction with the result and excitement about the new era at Liverpool. His comments highlighted his focus on continuing to deliver strong performances as the team adapts to Slot’s leadership, signaling a positive start to the season.

Salah said:“It was quite tough, the weather is really warm today, it was a tough team (Ipswich), I’m glad we won the game, and I’m always happy to make a difference for the team. That’s the most important thing, the team won the game, so we just need to carry on.

“Hopefully I can keep going like this for the whole season and not just the first game. I’m always happy to score goals and give assists, so I just need to carry on.

“Jurgen (Klopp) was with the team for eight years, and gave everything, and now it’s a new manager, new system, it’s quite different for all of us, so we need to adapt, take it step by step, because some players also came late (after international commitments), so we need to know his way of playing and enjoy our football.

“We don’t want to put more pressure on him (Slot), we just need to play football, enjoy our games, and see how it will end.”
