Virgil van Dijk, renowned as one of the world’s top footballers, has recently appeared in a new advertisement for Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s Gin & Juice drink. Van Dijk’s prominence has surged since his £75 million transfer from Southampton to Liverpool in 2018, solidifying his status as one of football’s all-time great centre-backs.
Given his elevated profile, it’s no surprise that major brands are keen to feature him. This summer, he collaborated with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to promote their Gin & Juice cocktail cans. Initially launched in the US, the brand, inspired by Snoop Dogg’s iconic track “Gin and Juice,” is now expanding to the UK.
In the advertisement, Van Dijk is seen taking a call from Snoop Dogg, who declares, “We’ve arrived.” This commercial follows Van Dijk’s appearance at the Gin & Juice launch party in London earlier this summer, where he mingled with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, LeBron James, and Jimmy Iovine—both of whom are partners in Fenway Sports Group, the ownership group of Liverpool FC.
After the event, Van Dijk shared his excitement on Instagram, posting, “When worlds collide! Good vibes, good people.” He is currently wrapping up his post-season holiday, enjoying time with his family after the Netherlands’ impressive run to the semi-finals of the Euros. The Liverpool captain is set to rejoin his teammates for the final stages of pre-season training in Merseyside next week.
