Superstar leaves Liverpool to join this Premier League team

Brentford have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign Fabio Carvalho, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The move comes during a relatively quiet summer for Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, who has yet to secure any new signings despite ongoing efforts to land Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Carvalho’s departure signals a change in direction for the young midfielder, who had shown promise during Liverpool’s pre-season tour in America. Despite his impressive performances, Slot will now have one less player in his squad as Carvalho prepares for a fresh start with Brentford.

Carvalho, who joined Liverpool from Fulham for £5 million in 2022, spent last season on loan with RB Leipzig and Hull City. The 21-year-old found the back of the net nine times while at Hull, helping them to a solid campaign, though they narrowly missed out on the playoffs. Now, he’s set for a new challenge in London.

The midfielder had garnered interest from several clubs, including newly-promoted Southampton, who saw a bid rejected, and Leicester City. However, Romano has reported that Brentford have won the race for his signature.

Romano shared the news on X.com, stating, “Fabio Carvalho to Brentford, here we go! Liverpool have agreed to sell Carvalho on a permanent deal. The fee is understood to be £20 million, with additional add-ons included. Carvalho has accepted the terms and will soon undergo medical tests at Brentford.”
