This is Trent’s reaction on Southgate leaving England

Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his thoughts on Instagram following Gareth Southgate’s resignation as England manager this morning.

Just 36 hours after England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, Southgate announced that the match was his last in charge after nearly eight years at the helm.

The Liverpool vice-captain has earned all 29 of his senior caps under Southgate’s leadership. Following the news of Southgate’s departure, Trent took to social media to share his appreciation.

On his Instagram story, Trent reposted a graphic from the official England account highlighting some of Southgate’s achievements, accompanied by the three-word message, “Thank you, Gareth.”

Despite some fans feeling Southgate could have utilized Trent’s talents better during Euro 2024, it’s clear from the 25-year-old’s post that he holds the former manager in high regard.

Liverpool supporters and England fans alike will be keen to see how Southgate’s successor handles the national team and whether they will make better use of Trent’s skills in future tournaments.
