UEFA has released its updated club coefficient rankings for the 2024/25 season, with Manchester City retaining the top position. These coefficients determine seedings in UEFA’s club competition draws and are calculated using a weighted algorithm based on performances in continental tournaments over the past four seasons. The rankings for this season take into account performances from the 2020/21 campaign onwards.
Real Madrid has moved up to second place after clinching their 15th Champions League title, while Bayern Munich and Liverpool occupy the third and fourth spots, respectively. Roma, noted for their strong European performances, unexpectedly finds themselves in fifth place. Completing the top ten are Paris Saint-Germain, Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Inter Milan. Notably, Manchester United is ranked 14th.
Further down the list, some clubs have earned surprising yet well-deserved positions. West Ham United, the 2023 Conference League winners, sit at 16th. They are followed by Atletico Madrid in 17th, Barcelona in 18th, and Arsenal in 19th, all reflecting their mixed results in recent European competitions.
Among the most unexpected rankings is Tottenham Hotspur at 45th. Spurs missed out on European football last season and have not made significant progress in continental competitions in recent years. They are positioned between the new Conference League champions Olympiacos (44th) and Copenhagen (46th).
