Jurgen Klopp expressed satisfaction with Liverpool’s performance against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton, highlighting it as their best showing against the opposition under his management. The tactical adjustments made by Klopp, particularly in the midfield setup with Alexis Mac Allister playing a deeper role alongside Wataru Endo, contributed to Liverpool’s improved possession and overall gameplay. Klopp also praised Dominik Szoboszlai as a “chaos creator,” emphasizing the midfielder’s impact on the team’s dynamics and attacking prowess.

The victory against Brighton marks a significant milestone for Klopp, as it is the first time his Liverpool side has emerged victorious against Roberto De Zerbi’s team after previously enduring two losses and two draws in their previous encounters. Klopp’s strategic adaptations and the notable contributions from players like Szoboszlai have added further depth and versatility to Liverpool’s gameplay, enhancing their ability to navigate challenging matchups and secure crucial victories in the Premier League title race.

“Wataru and Macca [were] in the right spaces and Dom was the surprising act there, the chaser, the chaos creator,” Klopp explained. “And that worked really well I thought. They had possession but not the possession they wanted and that helps.”

He elaborated further in his interview with LFCTV, saying: “Against the ball, we were really calm. [We] set the trigger in the right moment, really compact, incredible game from the boys.

“The centre, with Macca and Wataru, really good; Dom, like a fireball, jumping out there and creating the chaos. I liked that a lot.”
