Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has shed light on the injury status of several key players ahead of the upcoming fixture against Sheffield United. The Reds, fresh from reclaiming the top spot in the Premier League with a victory over Brighton, are gearing up to host the league’s bottom-placed team at Anfield. Klopp’s update brings a mix of positive news, with midfielder Curtis Jones poised to make his return after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in February against Brentford.

Additionally, Liverpool fans will be relieved to hear that Andy Robertson is available for selection for Thursday’s match. Robertson’s presence adds depth and experience to the squad, bolstering the team’s defensive capabilities as they aim to secure another crucial victory in their title pursuit. Despite these promising developments, Klopp also addressed ongoing injury concerns surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota, emphasizing the importance of managing their recoveries effectively to ensure their long-term fitness and availability for upcoming fixtures.

“Curtis is in training, is in contention. Yes, that is it pretty much,” Klopp said to the media in his press conference on Wednesday. The boys are doing well, Diogo and Trent are together in a group but it just looks like next week hopefully in parts of team training. No Ali, he looks good but in his mind as well, next week he will be part of team training. Stefan Bajčetić has trained fully with the Under-21s this week and then he trains with the seniors next week.

“Because Curtis is back it doesn’t mean he can play 90 minutes. Some players need momentum but how can you do that? It has nothing to do with Manchester United when we play Sheffield United, they have our full respect.

“I hope it’s not the case now with Curtis [he gets injured], he was outstanding until he got injured. Outstanding in training but let’s see how he gets on. They are building the body again for all these tough things coming in Premier League games but there are no other ways.
