Arne Slot has hinted at more exciting developments for Liverpool fans, promising “a couple more announcements” regarding new arrivals at Anfield in the near future.
In his first media appearance as Liverpool’s head coach, Slot discussed the new backroom staff joining him from Feyenoord. His former assistant Sipke Hulshoff and lead physical performance coach Ruben Peeters have already come on board, providing continuity and support as Slot begins his tenure with the Reds.
Slot, 45, revealed that additional appointments are imminent, suggesting that Liverpool fans can expect more news soon. “We’re expecting two others to join,” Slot shared with reporters, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo. “A couple more announcements in the near future.”
The departure of Jurgen Klopp, who served Liverpool for nearly nine years, also saw many of his backroom staff leaving, including assistant coach Pep Lijnders and goalkeeping coach John Achterberg. Slot’s quick integration of Hulshoff and Peeters will be crucial as the team adjusts to new leadership. Additionally, new goalkeeping coach Fabian Otte is set to join the squad following the USA’s early exit from the Copa America.
For Liverpool’s long-standing players, adapting to new voices and training methods will be a significant change after nearly a decade under Klopp’s regime. However, Slot’s reputation and the familiarity of having trusted colleagues from Feyenoord will be vital as he implements his vision for the club.
